Antique Indian Amulet PendantThis sterling silver pendant or amulet is worn chiefly in western Rajasthan. Depicted is a defied Bhumiya Raj hero, who died in defence of his property. The term bhumiya is from bhum, meaning "land". Trusted and feared, the spirits of these local heroes protect their community by nightly riding a horse around the village to dispel enemies or evil agents. This pendant is in great condition. Lenght 3. 3 cm Width 2. 2 Weight 2. 2 grams

the red coral and turquoise was purchased from Tibetan art dealer Suzi Lebasi in 2004
We have also found some specimens ourselves from areas outside the park
i bought this necklace in 2008 in the gem markets in Yangon Burma from a Nepali friend named Oh my God who sourced them for me when he found i liked antique beads
