I wrap the houses with vinyl and apply a clear laminate. Great for indoor or outdoor. When selecting the options for a birdhouse, it can be wrapped on 3 or 4 sides. this is ideal for hanging with the included hanger or mounting atop a pole (pole mount not included)

As for the hole on the Bird Feeder body it is for aesthetics only
