Each bowl has been hand carved from indigenous wood by women of the Turkana community in Kenya. Turkana bowls are known for their distinctive and unique shapes as well as their beautiful carving details, showcasing the artisanal wood working skills of the Turkana people. Our tableware is handmade in England using traditional Japanese pottery skills

but they are now designed as ritual objects to symbolise status and wealth
